HRV Analysis: Unpredictability of Approximate Entropy in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

چکیده
Introduction: Approximate entropy (ApEn) is a widely imposed metric to evaluate chaotic response and irregularities of RR-intervals from an electrocardiogram. Yet, the technique problematic due accurate choice tolerance (r) embedding dimension (M). We prescribed these responses in subjects exhibiting symptoms chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) we strived overcome this disadvantage by applying different groupings detect optimal. Methods: examined 38 split equally: COPD control. To autonomic modulation heart rate was measured beat-by-beat for 30 min supine position without any physical, sensory, or pharmacological stimuli. In time-series obtained ApEn then applied with set values tolerance, r dimension, M. Then, differences between two groups their effect size measures (Cohen’s ds Hedges’s gs) were computed. Results: The highest value statistical significance accomplished combinations undertaken -1.13 Cohen’s ds, -1.10 gs M = 2 0.1. Conclusion: capable optimally identifying decrease COPD. optimal combination 0.1 2, respectively. Despite this, relatively unpredictable mathematical marker use other techniques healthy pathological condition encouraged.

Statins and Pulmonary Hypertension in Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease
Chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) is a chronic multisystem disease with a considerable burden. One of its most common complications is pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). It has been demonstrated that the development of PAH is correlated with decreased quality of life and survival. Different medications have been proposed for the treatment of PAH, among which one can name statins. Howeve...

Background and Purpose: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been recognized as a risk factor for invasive aspergillosis. Airway colonization by Aspergillus species is a common feature of chronic pulmonary diseases. Nowadays, the incidence of COPD has increased in critically ill patients. The aim of the present study was to isolate and identify Aspergillus colonies in the respirator...

متن کاملPneumocystis jirovecii colonization in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is associated with a chronic inflammatory response in airways and lung parenchyma that results in significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. Cigarette smoking considered as an important risk factor plays a role in pathogenesis of disease. Pneumocystis jirovecii is an atypical opportunistic fungus that causes pneumonia in immunosuppressed host, al...
متن کاملHRV Analysis: A Clinical and Diagnostic Tool in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
This study's aim is to analyze heart rate dynamics in subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by measures of heart rate variability (HRV). HRV is a simple and noninvasive measure of autonomic impulses. 38 adults were divided into two equal groups based on respiratory function: COPD and normal. HRV was monitored in the supine position for 30 minutes. After tests of normality, ...
